Frequently Asked Questions
Q1 - What do Physiotherapists treat ?
A - Physiotherapy is a varied profession with many physiotherapists working within the NHS health care system. Here they may work to support many different areas including neurological rehabilitation, acute medical care, elderly rehab, outreach teams, accident and emergency, orthopaedic and outpatients. At ONEphysio we specialise in diagnosing and treating musculoskeltal conditions that may affect your muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints. We aim not only to provide first class treatment of your condition but also to help you identify the cause of your problem.
Q2 - Do I need to see my doctor first ?
A - Physiotherapy is an autominous profession and therefore you may book an appointment to see a private physiotherapist without seeing your doctor first. If after the assessment we feel you should see your GP or if you fail to respond to treatment then we will advise you on the best course of action. You may also be entitled to free NHS physiotherapy. To be considered for NHS physiotherapy you should see your local GP regarding your problem first.
Q3 - I have health insurance, can I claim physiotherapy using this ?
A - We are covered by all major health care schemes including AXA PPP (Bupa pending). All health care insurance schemes will vary on what they offer. We advise that you contact your health care insurer prior to making a booking with ONEphysio to ensure that you are covered and that they are happy to cover you to recieve treatment at ONEphysio. You may be required to see your GP prior to your visit. To keep admin costs down and therefore overall costs it is our policy to recieve payments prior to your consultation. ONEphysio will provide you with an invoice that you will be able to send to your insurance company to claim back any costs.
